Boldon Colliery Pit which opened in 1869



The  people in the bogie appear to be very young.

The sinkers

This amazing photograph of the sinkers, skilled men who were contracted to sink the  the mine shaft was kindy given to me to on Boldon Heritage Day 31st August 2009. The date on the back of the photograph depicts the date as 1866.
