Although nowadays  the emphasis is on retaining our heritage and thus our buildings. However, some of our buildings have to be  pulled down to make way for development. This may be for the improvement of things like social housing or private housing. Some. In the "Boldon Comprehensive" case , the school was demolished to make way for a new school and housing.

Here we have buildings that have either recently been pulled down or are in the process of.



This Bungalow remains unoccupied still in 2009 . It is understood that the building will be demolished to make way for the development of the former "Bank Top Garage " site which has planning permission for residential development. The poor housing market is holding back this current development.
