Front Street East Boldon. The church and the butchers shop can be identified on the right of the photograph.
Heading towards West Boldon we go along Western Terrace. The picture below has been taken looking back toward Front Street.
Western Terrace is still very much intact as in the photograph below. The original railings are no longer there but replaced by hedging etc.
Shadwell Towers, on the right of the photograph has since had the roof turrets removed. Out of view on the south side (right foreground ) is Shield Hurst, Aysgarth House, and Fontenette terraced houses. Set back from the road, they have decent sized front gardens.
